Review:
The first time I saw the thirteen reasons why, I was intrigued by it’s cover. I don’t know something just called after me, but when I read the summary I thought maybe this isn’t for me. I usually read paranormal fantasy and I usually don’t like staying out of that bubble, but this year I decided to give everything a try. I tried genres that I have never tried before and I was glad I did. I found out so much more interesting books out there and on of those books was the 13 reasons why.
Want to know something interesting? I read this book within 4 hours. Some of you might say I have no life or some might say that’s amazing. Well all I’ve got to say is that I don’t care if you say I have no life, it’s definitely been one of the most well used four hours of my life and it’s not the fact that I read it in four hours that’s amazing. It’s the book itself. This book was one of those books I’ll remember for the rest of my life because I swear; this book changed my perception in life and the people around me. It also made me think about my life right now. It was that much of a great book
One of the great things I came across while reading this book is the contrast between Hannah Baker’s humoristic tone while she tells her story via tape to Clay Jensen’s more serious way of telling the story. It made things more interesting and less depressing.
I also like the way Jay Asher kept on adding that suspense in the story, the way everything fits together like one big puzzle, and the audio tapes in general. I never would have thought of that and it was genius.
Thirteen reasons why is a definite must-read for all ages and I have no doubt it will change the way you think forever.
